In my London studio I use recycled mass produced materials to create personal and historical narratives. Recent materials include foam rubber bobbins.
Garments are the fragile thread upon which lives are pieced together. They signal who we are, give us warmth and comfort, and convey our memories.
They are my metaphor for humanity.
Hanging on the wall or sitting on a shelf,
my wrappings transform the meaning of ordinary objects.
Unstable and prone to deterioration,
paper needs to be handled delicately just like humanity.
